#102: Maximum Capacity.

When are we operating at maximum capacity? Hard to tell. It all depends on what the limitation is.

This room holds 15 people, that jar holds 5 cups of liquid and I can deal with a maximum of 5 problems.

How do we quantify the «load» of a problem? Are they all the same? Do they even use up the same resource? Is it space, time, brainpower, creativity, energy, empathy or even love?

Is finding the answer to a «how to» question using up more of your problem-holding capacity than why «your relationship with a loved one» keeps you awake at night?

I don’t know. No idea what the answer is.

How does your problem-holding capacity compare to your problem-solving capacity? How do they differ?

Again. I don’t know.

A room is subject to physical limitations. So is a jar. What about emotions? How much anger can we possible absorb, deal with, process? Is love the same?

An overload of love.

I am suffering from too much joy.

It appears that positive emotions aren’t subject to maximum capacity limits, different from negative emotions, which somehow eat into our willingness to live over time.

Food for thought.
