We have all watched it (at least in this part of the world). It’s sad, isn’t it? And yet, it makes us all laugh.

What is like to be left with yourself as your only company?

Luckily, Miss Sophie can still count on her butler James who plays his role as her only remaining company very diligently. Well established and unchanged procedures do play their part in maintaining familiarity in the absence of some dearly missed friends.

I have always struggled with being my only company. This goes back to my early days as a child.

Why is that? What is it that could possibly make me feel uncomfortable? Not having the answer, I can only guess.

There might be something I don’t like about myself.

Is there anything mysterious about me?

Undoubtedly, there are things I cannot explain or would want to be different. Different or better? What is better anyway?

The overall package isn’t too bad, though.

Today, I was left with myself. Accepting the challenge, I decided to prepare a decent dinner for, you guessed it, just myself.

Five courses of delicious vegan Indian food, three and a half hour of cooking time, two glasses of red wine. (James wouldn’t be impressed, would he?)

I loved it, not just the food, all of it. Actually, I enjoyed my company very much. We all (!) had a good laugh. Looks like I am slowly developing into my BESTEST ME.

Again or finally?

Well, that would be another question for another day.
