#36: Nothingness
What was that? What has just not happened? What is inside me? The answer should be obvious.
Nothing.
Martin A. Ciesielski wrote about The Three Nothings of Life in the Journal of Beautiful Business. What a fascinating topic to think and write about.
Looking at the world of Nothings, Ciesielski sees a scary reality that consists of more than just a little something:
1. Out of Nothing: Much of what we call life just happens to us. Impossible to prepare for. How do we deal with that?
2. Things That Did Not Happen: There is no something without nothing. And yet, the universe of nothing is impossible to grasp. Should we be happy or sad about everything that has never happened to us?
3. Inner Emptiness: Our perception of the world would be a different one if we prioritized listening to over looking at it. We might get closer to our inner nothingness. But are we ready to confront what awaits us there?
The world might present itself to us as a scary and unfair place. Lots of bad things could happen to us. And we might never win the lottery.
Taking a slightly more positive position, there are a number of good people out there. Some changes to life would be really nice. We are not asking for much. Just trying to make life a bit better within the limitations of our imagination.
But what if we went beyond? What is out there? Out there in…
nothingness?
That is where opportunities are endless, transformation becomes possible, energy lasts forever.
And yet, nothingness needs to be experienced, not just imagined. It requires movement, part of which is physical in nature. That is comparatively easy. The harder part is dealing with ourselves. Listening to everything inside.
There is noise and there is silence.
There is something and there is nothing.
You have experience in handling most of something.
Learn the rest or ask for help.
Nothing represents a new challenge.
Embrace it. Yourself.
Your effort shall be rewarded.
