#75: What Makes Me Cry.

Again and again. I just can’t help it. It always makes me cry.

Ordinary people seeing a window of opportunity, opening it, performing and growing in the process.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

I know it isn’t. It has nothing to do with «luck» or «overnight success». Those individuals would have practiced for a lifetime.

The ones I am referring to differentiate themselves from others by their modesty. They are proud of their humble origins and show a great amount of gratitude to those having supported them all along.

What touches me aren’t the stories of glory or success. It is about diligent work finally paying off. Those people take a stand and don’t give a damn about what others think. Being liked is not the goal. Respect is what they are after. That is what captivates me.

Why does it get so personal? Am I like one of them?

I don’t know and the answer is no.

To be honest, I have always felt privileged during my professional career. No different from them, I also recognized windows of opportunity available to me, opened them and «performed» in my own small world. I wasn’t on stage nor did my performance get streamed on TV.

What touches me is the amount of talent out there that is either wasted because those windows of opportunity don’t show up at all or, even worse, are clouded and therefore not visible.

I would love to act as a «window opener» for others. No idea what that means.

That is just what was on my mind today.

The story of Deana is a great example of what I am talking about.
